HMRC’s Powers – a tougher taxman

In August 2015, HMRC merged its criminal investigations team with specialist investigations to form the Fraud Investigation Service (FIS).

This new and experienced unit provides a more cohesive approach to tackling tax evasion, fulfilling the government objective of increasing prosecutions and has, in effect, resulted in a tougher taxman.

HMRC is a very different animal nowadays. It has evolved to become leaner and meaner, inviting cooperation whilst retaining the right to prosecute.

Whilst the landscape may be shifting, we have the capability to deal with all the complexities that may arise from the new FIS.
